Key Skills

I am a people person and a good around riding coach. I am the “hostess with the mostess” and love entertaining and sharing my passion for horses, animals and nature with others. I am a team player as well as a natural leader.
I give riders confidence and the horses too. I have a gift of explaining and getting the point across well. I have halter broke, long reined, backed and ridden away a fair few young horses. I am gentle but firm and put boundaries in place with young horses from the start which gives them confidence and trust in me. Using my valuable personal experience I can relate to the riders and help riders set achievable goals. The maintenance of highest standards of safety of the riders as well as care and welfare for the horses and animals is of utmost improvement to me as well as providing fun, enjoyable, safe and interesting lessons and trail rides.

I am accomplished in all the general yard expertise like plaiting, trimming, show turn-turn out, lungeing, long reining etc.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? The horses – they are my passion. I understand them, I have studied them, worked with them my whole life and feel that they are quite misunderstood at times and I know I can connect with them and make a difference to the people around me and to them by just being in their presence. They make me happy inside and reflects in my coaching and people skills. I take great pleasure in sharing my passion and my love for them.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

There is always room for improvement and I love all disciplines so any lessons, lectures personal development in any aspect would be welcomed gladly. I strongly believe in Personal Development and I am always improving and enhancing my skills. I would love to complete my BHS Stage 3 & 4 and well as develop and gain more awards in Outdoor Education.
