Experience with Horses
Hi there!
I started riding when I was 8 years old, attended pony club and worked mucking stalls on weekends to help pay for lessons. As I got older I was able to own multiple horses and still own my now retired heart horse, MayMay.
In High school I moved to an A rated show barn and began competing in the Big Eq classes as well as 1.10m jumpers. I rode with this stable for 5 years and worked on the weekends and over the summers as a groom- both at home and at shows to help cover costs. I rode as many horses a day as they would let me, often 5 per day.
I took a break from riding for a few years and went to University, but I ended up just going back to riding and grooming. Throughout my 20’s I worked at another A rated show barn, training young horses, teaching lessons and grooming at horse shows. My duties included feeding, rugging, turnout, mucking, riding, and teaching. I also organized vet/farrier/specialty appointments as well as daily medical care ie: administering meds, wrapping, poulticing etc. I also have a ton of experience packing, loading, shipping and braiding at shows.
I have spent the more recent years working as a makeup artist for television and riding more for leisure.
Key Skills
I am very self motivated and good at multitasking. I keep note of all tasks that need to be completed and get them done in the most streamlined, efficient way possible.
I love to work with people, I love a good laugh but I know when to be serious and focused.
I can clip, braid and turnout a horse with the best of them!
I love my horses and strive to create a solid bond.
