Experience with Horses
Having worked with horses for many years in various roles, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of horse care and management. I’ve had the privilege of working at a riding school and livery yard, where I was responsible for the daily care of a wide range of horses, from ponies to competition horses. This included mucking out, grooming, feeding, and ensuring each horse’s specific needs were met. I have developed strong attention to detail when it comes to monitoring horses’ health, including checking for signs of illness, injury, or discomfort, and acting promptly to address any concerns.
As a home groom on a show jumping yard, I honed my skills in caring for high-performance horses, ensuring they were in optimal condition for training and competition. I managed their grooming routines, tack care, and exercised them as required, while also learning the importance of maintaining consistency in their care and performance preparation.
Additionally, I have experience in monitoring horses’ behavior and knowing how to assess their needs in different situations. Whether it’s after a competition, a change in routine, or seasonal adjustments, I am able to tailor my approach to ensure each horse receives the care it requires.
Key Skills
I am highly capable of working both independently and as part of a team. In my current role, I successfully manage a team of 15 individuals, ensuring clear communication and efficient collaboration to meet shared goals. I am accustomed to working to tight schedules, prioritizing tasks to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality. Additionally, I thrive under pressure and remain focused in high-stress situations, consistently delivering results while maintaining a calm and organized approach
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I have a genuine passion for working with horses and find great fulfillment in caring for them. Whether it’s through daily tasks, training, or ensuring their well-being, I truly enjoy building strong connections with horses and contributing to their development and happiness
