Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
My passion for horses started at a age. I grew up on an eventing yard where developed my riding skills and competed at Area level in all disciplines. I have assisted event riders at my yard with competitions, preparing and organising all types of horses including youngsters. Furthermore I have also been a member of the West Kent Meopham pony club where I have volunteered to help out with running one day events and rallies.
I have recently spent the past summer working in Spain on a stud farm for a Grand Prix Dressage rider where I received daily dressage lessons working on expanding my dressage knowledge and developing relationships between horse and rider. My daily Duties consisted of:
- Helping out with general yard work.
- Preparing horses for riders and guests.
- Hacking out horses.
- Assisting with free-jumping and lunging.
- Brining horses in from paddocks.
- Handling young horses/stallions.
- Warming up/cooling down horses for riders.
- Assisting with the vet and farrier.
- keeping tack clean.
- Feeding 3 times a day.
- caring for yard dogs.
