I have been working with horses for 6+ years now and have worked on full/part time livery yard, as well as a riding school for couple weekends as cover. Worked on DIY yard with assistance required if the owner need it.

I have had my own horse in the past which i have competed up to 90cm/1metre which meant working our way up to BS levels.

I haven’t had any experience backing/breaking youngsters but have had experiences with them on ground from age 2+ onwards.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Clipping, Plaiting, Mane and Tail trimming/pulling.

Working alone and as a team.

Handling youngsters age 2+ onwards

Have handled stallions a couple times

Have got horses prepped and ready for shows

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

It is rewarding as a groom to be watching horse progress not only as a horse but along with their rider working as a partnership.

Everyday with horses brings new challenges and experiences which makes the future more pursuing and exciting.

Horses are hard work but that what makes it most rewarding and makes me want to succeed at level at what i want to achieve at.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

To have all the experience in world that I can get and to give it my best shot, to be able to say I done it even when it couldn’t have been easy.

 

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I will always work to a full potential and standard, always trying my best to succeed and to accommodate the best I can for the horses and its owner/rider. I have always treated other people horses like my own no matter what given circumstances are.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I am profoundly deaf with two cochlear implants and always have been. I want to make other groom/riders feel seen and heard no matter what disability they may have got, being deaf has never stopped me from what i wanted to do and i want to make others feel seen in equine industry.

I would like to be able to work in international show jumping either as a groom or rider.
