Experience with Horses

• 7 years (2017-2024) of volunteering at the breeding stable in Poland – 4 years with polish konik with above 40 breeding mares, their foals, young horses and stallions and 3 years with 5 holstein sport mares and their foals. I was breaking in young horses, taking care of the foals, mares and stallions, mucking out, feeding, helping in vet and farrier appointments, lounging, teaching foals basic knowledge (for example giving legs and walking on rope) and doing small repairs,
• 2 weeks (9.2022) of highschool internships in the Portugese dressage stable,
• 2 months (7.2023-8.2023) working as a jumping home groom for Tobias Meyer in the stud stable in Germany, including one week of international show,
• 4 months (10.2024-now) working as a dressage home groom for Sabine Rueben in Germany,
• 4 years of owning young horse since his birth, breaking him in.

• I enjoy working alone, as well as in the team,

• plaiting – I don’t have too much experience, so usually I need more time to do them,

• riding not on the highest level, but with care of horse’s well-being,

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I love seeing how under the good hands, they’re turning from the most unbalanced, spooky and naughty ones into relaxed, curious and loving beings. I like the contrast of thrill of the rush and high adrenaline to feeling completely calm and harmonious around them.

 

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to improve my knowledge and experience with veterinary and also my riding skills. I would like to get to know different ways and mindsets of handling horses.

 

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I’m young, so I have a lot of energy and eager to learn. I put above everything well-being and comfort of a horse. I read a lot of books about horse’s behavior in wild, so I can adjust to their mind and teach them good things, in a long term.

I would like to gain more experience in different varieties of equine life.

Yes

 

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I would like to take my horse with me. If it’s not possible to keep him in the stable where I’m working, then there’s have to be a stable max. 15 kim away. My only requirement for him is a big pasture and a nice place to ride, like forest or a field.

 

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

I would like to work with my boyfriend or if there’s no place to work for him, then if we could at least live with me. He have some experience with horses – he helps me everytime to prepare my horse and know how to lounge him. He would like to be a stableman, but he also could learn how to be a home groom.

 

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

No, but I would like to take at least one week off during summer time.
