Experience with Horses
Equestrian Experience
- Over 13 years dedicated to riding, training, and managing horses.
- Competed up to 1.25m level and 1.50m power jump competitions, gaining extensive experience in competitive equestrian environments.
- Worked with a diverse range of horses, including young and unbroken horses, “spicy” types, stallions, and mature, calm horses.
- Adaptable and skilled in recognizing and responding to each horse’s temperament and needs.
- I have worked at show jumping stables for 3 years as a home groom from Feb 10th, 2021 – May 7th, 2024. During that time, I also assisted at competitions, including National, Liga, and International events. I was a rider at the stables as well, and my duties included mucking out, feeding, lunging, clipping, tacking up and untacking, and helping with pony hacks and little kids’ camp. Additionally, I looked after horses while their owners were away, providing care such as feeding, working them in hand, and hacking out. (Left this stables for a personal reasons)
- I also worked at private stables for 2 years September 18th, 2018 – November 4th, 2020, where I was responsible for mucking out, turning in/turning out, feeding, lunging, and being a flat rider and hacks with retirement horses. I left that position because the stable didn’t provide me with a good salary. While there were many horses, the stable didn’t have a lot of clients, so sometimes the money wasn’t available, and I wasn’t paid much. And at the end, the lady sold her stables on 2020 November 12th as there was no income at all.

Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I find working with horses incredibly rewarding for several reasons. Firstly, horses are highly intuitive and intelligent animals, which creates a unique bond between them and their handlers. The communication with them isn’t just physical, but also emotional, which challenges me to be both patient and observant. I love that every horse has its own personality, and being able to understand them and adapt to their needs is a constantly evolving learning process. There’s also something very fulfilling about helping a horse develop trust and confidence, and seeing them grow in their skills and relationships. Ultimately, working with horses gives me the opportunity to nurture that connection, foster mutual respect, and witness the positive outcomes of that relationship—whether it’s improving performance or simply seeing a horse flourish in a supportive environment.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would like to improve my riding skills to a high level and learn more and more by working at different stables with different people, so each time i learn something new and not being on the same page
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
Employers should consider me because I am a responsible and dedicated worker who consistently strives to complete every task to the highest standard. I take pride in delivering top-quality results, no matter how big or small the task may be. My strong work ethic ensures that I always give my best effort, completing tasks in a timely manner while maintaining excellent attention to detail. In addition to my commitment to high-quality work, I am a quick learner. I can quickly adapt to new systems, environments, and responsibilities, which allows me to contribute effectively from day one. My goal is always to add value to the team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest level of excellence.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
At every job, I am looking forward to learning new things, and new techniques as each trainer, and owner, at each barn has their own method of teaching a horse, so I’m planning to expand my knowledge more and more, looking forward to learning more how to handle younger horses, foals and want to learn how to be at the breading stables. If there is a show jumping stable I would choose that option as I am a show jumper myself, and if there is a chance to bring my own horse would be amazing (but it is not a big deal as she is for sale at the moment) Would be interested too in dressage stables as I have done dressage competitions. I am open to all options as a groom, show groom, or rider, and I’m open to all opportunities at all options at all stables.
• Do you need accommodation?
it all of course depends on location but if the job is in Belgium, then I do not need it because I’m planning to move here for a long time and I’m looking right now for a house to live in with my partner
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have my own horse at the moment, but I’m planning to breed her or sell her to a breeding stable, as she is a very amazing mare, but no I’m not bringing her with me, and I have a dog. But if I’m going to live at my own house so I don’t need to bring him to work
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
At the moment I am not working but I can start from any time
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No, I don’t have any holidays booked till next year, and I’m not planning to go anywhere this year
