Experience with Horses
5* Eventing groom with over 10 years experience over all disciplines. Have worked in multiple high calibre, world class yards, as well as roles as a nanny and in other lines of work (marketing, cleaner, barmaid.)
Key Skills
Working as part of a team, working alone, competition grooming, plaiting, clipping, equine first aid, riding young horses, cleaning and tidying, organisation.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you enjoy most about working with horses?
The horses. I take great pride in seeing them look at their best, whilst being relaxed and happy. I always strive to leave no stone unturned so that they have the opportunity to perform at their best.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Previously my entire life has revolved around my job. I would like to learn to take a step back whilst still delivering the same levels of care and attention.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have worked in the equine industry for many years, so I understand the hard work that is required and I have a work ethic that is hard to find.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
Although I wouldn’t be against working in another busy competition yard, ideally I would enjoy a quieter pace of life or a less stressful role.
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes, accommodation would be required unless there are local properties to rent and the wage will allow for that.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have a horse to bring but he has no special requirements.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
I am running an ultra marathon for Leukemia UK on 21st of June so a few days off on and around this date would be appreciated.
