Experience with Horses
I am 17year of age and i have 11years of experience with horses, currently I am a part-time groom on a livery yard which holds around 40/50 horses. I would love to branch off into exercising horses perhaps for point to point yards despite not having experience riding/racing thoroughbreds. I do have my own horse which i care for solely. I have experience with different types of horses from cobs to warmbloods of all ages, including having a mare who foaled.
Key Skills
I can work alone well and i am confident enough handling/working with horses solely. I’m often asked to ride by people i know, where i help schooling, sometimes jumping, sometimes taking horses out to venues and often ride horses to get pictures and videos to be advertised with. Being a current groom on a livery yard, i complete general yard duties like mucking out, haying up, turning horses out/getting horses in and putting horses on and off the walker.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Due to being in the horse background for so long, i have a genuine love for the animal. Riding them is definitely my favourite part, wether their quirky and difficult or not.
• There is nothing I’m specifically looking to improve but would enjoy gaining more knowledge from riding more, despite already have 11years experience.
• I think I should be considered more than others searching for similar positions because I am a reliable, hardworking and trustworthy young person with genuine interest.
Requirements
• I am already seen as a good rider but would ideally like to learn the ropes on the tracks with thoroughbreds, it is not a necessity but would be an offer i would jump at.
• Do you need accommodation? Dependant on the location yes.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? If the location is further out for me and I live in with accommodation, It would be ideal for my horse to be stables too.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments? Currently I am in college, but finishing this year. I have my own horse which Im dedicated too and my current job as a groom at a local livery yard.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? Currently no.
