Experience with Horses

I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old I am now 24 and still riding. I got my first 13.2hh pony at 8 years old, I was jumping him in the 138s affiliated. I then moved on to my next pony who was 14.2hh, I competed in many different competitions with her, we did POYS twice, Halloween Arena UK, Wales at West and many other events. I have also done quite a few eventing days. I have ridden many different horses over the years as I have a lot of confidence in the saddle and never been afraid. I currently don’t have my own horse as my previous was put to sleep in 2023. At the moment I’m riding an ex race horse called Deja, who was previously owned by Peter Chappel-Hyme. I have a keen interest for showjumping and racing. I am looking for a job either doing just basic jobs at the stables to riding.

Key Skills

My horses have been kept on DIY yards, so I am very good with there up keep as I used to sort them out before I even went to school and straight from there. I can muck out straw or bedding, grooming, bathing especially making tails white again,plaiting, I can do show braids also, I can clip too. I would soak haynets and lift them with no issues, mucking the fields out is not an issue either. I am very good with lunging, flat work, jumping, eventing and hacking as this is what I really enjoy most and bonding with horses.

Strengths and Weaknesses

I would say my strengths are within the stables and riding. I am very good with caring for horses and making sure they are comfortable. My second pony eventually had Grade 4 Ulcers, so making life adaptable for her made me learn a lot quickly. With riding, I would say I am my best at show jumping and flat work, my weaknesses are dressage however, I would like to improve this skill. I believe that because we was at a mainly show jumping stables that we mainly did this. I have done dressage tests because of eventing and I did score well in those.

I believe I should be considered for your role, because I have 18 years experience with horses. I have so much confidence on and off the ground. I can bring courage and determination to get stuff done. I absolutely love horses and all animals so working with them would push me to be the best employee that I could be.

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I would like to gain more knowledge with different breeds of horses, ages and height. I hope to one day work at a competition stables so that I could meet people who’ll inspire me in the horse world.
