Experience with Horses
Experienced rider and groom working with young horses, top level eventers, and show jumpers. I have experience as a yard diagnostic technician at Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons (Newmarket) as well as being an assistant manager of a 5* full livery yard.
My degree in Equine Performance and Rehabilitation Therapy has given me theoretical and practical based skills and knowledge for analysing equine performance in a variety of disciplines and the rehabilitation process to get horses back to the same level (if not better) of work!
Key Skills
I have extensive skills, backed by scientific research, in what it takes for a horse to be competing at its optimal for its discipline and its rehabilitation back to optimal function after injury or time off. This includes: symmetry reports, saddle pressure, optimal training programmes, appropriate training aids for the individual horse, nutrition around training, rehabilitation plans and exercises, and much more!
I am a hard working individual that cares for each horses individual needs. I am great and effective at working alone, being soul charged, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling/riding young horses, lunging, long-lining, and non-equine skills etc.
I have been at stay home and stay away groom for eventing, dressage, and showjumping.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• Confident in my communication skills within a professional team (vet, farrier, owners, physio etc.) to achieve the best outcome for the horse.
• I would love to incorporate more of my theoretical knowledge into practice.
• BONUS!!! I am going to be completing my Masters of science in Veterinary Physiotherapy 🙂
Requirements
• Accommodation if outside the Cambridgeshire area.
• Small trained working cocker spaniel (female) to accompany me.
• Starting my Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the end of September (course is at weekends) so will need most weekends off to travel to Essex.
• Currently unavailable until the 9th June due to finishing University.
