I am currently freelancing for Gemma Stevens and a 4* rider based with her, Pru Dawes.
Key Skills
I am great at riding and producing horses. Experienced with working with advanced horses and competition Prep.
I also worked for a year in a nursery so I have child care experience, health and safety qualifications, good with ponies, chickens, dogs and house keeping.
I have had soul charge of yards and turnout to a high standard. Recently travelled to Belgium to support a SJ.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? Excellent at producing, fitness work – I have ridden 5* horses and top level show jumpers and dressage horses. Neat and tidy standards on the yard. A good eye for a horse – would be happy to help someone source one and currently have one now being ridden by Gemma Stevens.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
No but I do feel I have done my time on large competition yards and would prefer a smaller setting without so much time away!
I am dyslexic so paperwork and PA work would not be my strong point !
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am very experienced equestrian with great contacts and connections within the industry, but also just a very happy and genuine person to be around !
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
Ideally I would love a smaller yard. Happy for this to be family and in any discipline – one or two elite horses would be lovely but I am open to all.
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
No but if there was space for a dog I might get one ! No essential and at present I don’t have a horse.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No – I am close with my family so would always be interested in a position with some flexibility
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
