Experience with Horses
I have over 20 years of experience working in the horse industry. I’ve owned horses all my life and started riding at the age of 4. My parents took me to regular riding lessons, local shows and events with my pony. Aged 11 – 15 I volunteered at my local riding school, leading in lessons, caring for the horses and partaking in regular riding lessons. Aged 17 I purchase my own horse and competed at show jumping and showing. During my twenties I owned my own horses and raised my young family. At 28 I decided to leave my full time job and run a riding school. Over the next 10 years I worked for the BHS as a riding & road safety trainer and examiner, freelanced coached at riding schools and private horse owners and started another riding school. This riding school became a BHS centre, pony club centre and an RDA group. Unfortunately I had a dispute with my ex partner and we closed the riding school. Since then I have continued to freelance coach and work for two RDA centres. Over my full equine career I have broken, trained and schooled over 150 horses, Coached riders and non riders with their riding skills and horse care tuition from beginner level to advanced level. I have coached BHS qualification’s Stage1/2 and the challenge awards. I have coached Pony Club participant’s and helped them gain their pony club badges. I have become an experienced RDA coach, training and supporting participants with Disabilities and Learning difficulties.

I enjoy working with horses because they help me feel relaxed and happy. I enjoy helping others with working with horses, coaching them on how to care and ride their horse. I enjoy working in a team and on my own.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would like to complete my BHS level 4 exam in the future and try work in rescue/rehabilitation.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am very hard working, always reliable, available & flexible with hours. I strive to always put the horses needs first and have the highest standards which I work hard to maintain. I have amazing management and supervising skills, my co workers also insist I stay in my role as they enjoy working with me and say I am very good at listening and supporting them.
