I am an experienced groom with an exceptionally high standard of care, treating any animal as if it were my own. Yard work is where I thrive and I take a lot of pride in my work.
Nothing is too much bother and the stables and yard would always be left immaculate, with the horses groomed and happy.
I am more than happy to be sole charge groom or work in a small team and am confident enough to liaise with any feed orders, vet/farrier appointments and I’m familiar with any signs of lameness/colic/choke etc and take appropriate action if need be.
After having a confidence knock with a previous horse after a bad fall, my confidence is now currently growing rapidly with my Connemara mare and pending on the horses temperament, I’d be happy to do a bit of flatwork or hacking. Equally I’m more than happy to lunge and have plenty of experience doing so.
I can clip, but my skills are very basic in this. If you don’t mind the odd tram line and it’s mainly for comfort then I’m more than capable, but if it’s a perfect finish you’re after, I’m not your girl. Plaiting is also something I’ve not often had to do, so need practise in this area.
I have a very specific situation, so I’m well aware I’ll be unsuitable for most employers, but I’m really hoping the right position is out there .
After taking a break from working with horses full time, I am now looking to get back into it as I work and thrive best when outdoors (come rain or shine).
My current employer has very suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, which has rendered me homeless and jobless, so I’m available for immediate start.
I do however have a son, who attends nursery that I’m happy to increase his hours at if/when a suitable position is found. In an ideal world, I’d find a live in position on a quiet yard for me, my son and my dog. If the opportunity is there to bring my mare that would be amazing, but I can always livery her locally. Live out is also an option.
