Experience with Horses
I have been around and worked with horses since I was a child. I have owned my own and have also worked with them on an employed basis. This includes but is not limited to:
– Groom (Livery Yard)
– Riding Instructor (Riding school)
– Groom/Rider (Private Estate)
-Backing/Breaking (Self Employed Basis)
Key Skills
In the roles I have worked in, I have gained experience with a variety of breeds and types of horses (Foals, Colts, Stallions, Green/difficult horses). I have a confident yet quiet approach with all animals and have the patience required with this that need a little extra time.
I am also able to Muck out and Groom to a high standard as well as having a good knowledge of Horse First Aid.
I work well alone as well as part of a team and am also able to tow a trailer.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love that every day is different and the accomplishment of overcoming both small and big hurdles.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and understanding of horses, whether that be when riding or on the ground.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job applicant?
I am a dedicated and honest individual. I pick up new things quickly and have a keen eye for details.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
Although not a deal breaker, I’m looking for a groom/rider role with a mixture of horse care and riding.
• Do you need accommodation?
Ideally yes
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
None
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
