Experience with Horses

I have had hands-on experience in a professional equine setting, developing skills in riding, lunging, groundwork, and liberty training. I worked closely with young stock and stallions, building confidence in safe handling and training practices. I also supported lessons by leading and teaching children, adapting my communication to suit different ages and abilities. I have been single-handedly responsible for night  and early morning checks. Outside of the yard, I have lived independently —managing daily routines, cooking, and building life skills that strengthened my confidence and responsibility.

I really enjoy variety of work with horses and am open minded as I start my career. I am physically fit, not afraid of hard work, and have a practical, hands-on approach to learning. I am keen to develop my skills in horse care, yard duties, and riding (if required), and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to succeed in this industry. I am aware of the value of responsibility, organisation, and building strong relationships—skills that I believe I have and make me a strong candidate for a role in any equine setting.

Strengths and Weaknesses

I am committed to furthering my knowledge and growing within the equine industry, which is why I am currently working through my British Horse Society (BHS) exams to develop both my practical and theoretical skills to a professional standard. I have also recently passed my driving test, giving me greater flexibility and independence when it comes to travelling for work and training opportunities. These steps reflect my dedication to building a long-term career in the equine sector.

My strong understanding of horse behaviour and body language allows me to approach every task with empathy and confidence, ensuring both horse and rider safety. I am experienced in lunging, schooling, and tack maintenance, and I take pride in upholding high standards of hygiene and equipment care.

As a safety-conscious and reliable team player, I communicate clearly with colleagues and clients, and I’m always ready to take initiative when needed. My leadership skills and ability to remain calm in challenging situations have proven helpful when working on a busy yard.

Requirements

I am willing to consider a live in or live out position depending on location. I enjoy being part of a team but likewise am happy in my own company when needed.

I am coming to the end of orthodontic treatment, my dentist hopes my braces will be removed in the next couple of months.

I have a holiday booked to celebrate finishing college at the end of June, but I am free to start work at the start of July – 2nd

I also have a weekend festival booked with my family on August 15th-17th.
