Experience with Horses
Looking for a part time (4day) home groom position, no previous experience in show grooming but would be keen to learn, I have experience working on lots of different yards such as eventing, showjumping, dressage, livery etc… happy to try new kinds of yards or work in a smaller private setting.
I can confidently do all usual yard duties such as: turn out, bring in, rug change, put on/ off walker, tack up/ untack, clean tack, groom, bath, wash off after rides, help pack/ unpack for shows, muck out, hold for vet/ farrier/ physio, keep everything organised & tidy.I have also done yard maintenance such as jet washing & painting.
Looking for mainly yard work, I can exercise horses if needed but only safe & sane as I have my own horse to keep in full work.
Unable to plait/ clip/ pull but very keen to learn new skills.
Key Skills
Reliable, Enthusiastic & keen worker with a good sense of humour, can work in a team or alone & care for the horses/ animals I work with as my own.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• I can work off of my own initiative but will always make sure to check owners are happy with my decisions.
• I’d love to improve my plaiting, trimming & clipping skills/ gain experience in show grooming.
• I will always prioritise the health & happiness of the horse & have a good eye for detail.
Requirements
• 4 full days a week
•looking for fun & friendly team.
• I do not need to bring my own horse/ animals or any accommodation.
• I have a small livery yard with my mum on the other 3 days of the week, this can be flexible around the days the main yard I work on need me for.
• I will need 1 week off in September, can get dates for any employer interested.
