Experience with Horses
I have worked on plenty of different yards, from sales livery, stud yards, and racing yards. I can perform day to day tasks and riding confidently and carefully.
Key Skills
I work well with others and maintain the same work ethic when performing solo tasks. I have worked for some of the top riders who compete in BSJA/Showing – meaning I am competent with prepping horses for shows, including grooming, plaiting, clipping. I’m a confident handler and have worked with stallions, as well as riding young/green horses.
Strengths and Weaknesses
I most enjoy the lifestyle working with horses provides, I love being outdoors and I obviously love horses. I think it provides me with stability while still helping me feel happy at work.
I’d love to work on more stud yards to improve my handling/care for foals. Throughout my equine career I have worked in this type of yard but especially love brand new foals.
I’m not only capable of performing most equine related jobs, but I do so passionately. I truly care for each animal I care for and would always strive for the best life possible for them. I also really enjoy the work.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to begin working with horses again.
• Do you need accommodation?
Not always required.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
If the position is live in, I do have a very well trained German Shepard. Honey is 18 months old and has worked at a livery yard with me prior so is extremely social and happy to be around horses/dogs/people. She is not destructive and is crate trained.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
N/A
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
I do have a few holidays in July (then none for the rest of the year) : I’m going to Milan from 4th to 7th July. I have a family wedding from 9th to 11th July and then I am going to Greece on 17th July until 24th. I don’t usually have so much time off and don’t require any more.
