Experience with Horses
I have been riding and working with horses for many years, with a primary focus on dressage. I hold an S licence in dressage and have experience riding a variety of horses, including young, cheeky, and inexperienced horses, as well as stallions.
Over the past few summers, I have worked at multiple stables across Europe, gaining hands-on experience in daily stable management, grooming, handling horses, and assisting with training. I have trained under renowned dressage coaches and taken part in seminars for riders, judges, and instructors.
In addition to my dressage background, I have some experience in show jumping, though my passion and focus lie firmly in dressage. I am also planning to complete my instructor’s badge after finishing school and pursue a judge’s license in the future(when new slots open in the national federation).
Key Skills
-
Confident handling young horses and stallions
-
Grooming, feeding, turning out, and general stable care
-
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
-
Open-minded and eager to learn from trainers and colleagues
-
Basic skills in plaiting and show turnout
-
Some experience with non-equine tasks (light housework, childcare, and admin help when needed)
Strengths and Weaknesses
What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love the daily connection with horses and the reward that comes from building trust and improving performance over time. I especially enjoy training and riding horses through their development, watching their progress physically(am quite the geek when it comes to building strong and proper muscles) and mentally.
Is there anything you’d like to improve?
While I am confident in my abilities, I would like to further develop my dressage skills and go to as many competitions as possible and hopefully represent my country at the European Championships. I also want to continue improving my German (I speak conversationally, but not fluently yet).
Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am reliable, respectful, and truly passionate about dressage. I understand that this is a demanding industry, and really I’m willing to work hard, not just in the saddle but in the stable too. I am also committed to long-term learning, both in equestrian sport and through my online university studies, showing I can balance multiple responsibilities.
