Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I’ve worked with horses all my life. Stallions, young ones, old ones and so called problem horses, with that I mean horses who rear, have a bucking problem. I know how to handle a lot of different types of horses as well as the ground work such as muck out, lunging, clipping and much more.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I think I could say that I’m quite experienced in all the above. I know how to handle horses and how to keep the stable clean and safe for both horses and humans working there.
I have been called a skilled rider by many of my trainers and by the people I’ve worked with before.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I love to learn new things and with horses there’s always new things to learn. I love to ride all kind of horses because you can learn new ways of riding which you can take with you to new places and to new horses. I also love that it’s a physical kind of job that you have to use your body to get things done.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to improve my riding skills and to learn new ways of taking care of horses.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I think I’m good at what I do, I’ve been told so as well. I know what I’m doing when riding and handling horses and I know what to do when things go wrong. I have a good work ethic and I can both work alone and with others. I can handle stressful situations and can keep calm in situations where one might need to. I know how to take care of wounds and I do things when I’m told to. I’m good as communicating with the people I work with so everything will go as smoothly and as safely as possible. I don’t have a problem doing the dirty work as well as riding.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I want to learn more things in the equine industry and how to take care of a yard. I also want to improve everything I can.

• Do you need accommodation?

I would like to have accommodation.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I have two horses and a cat I would like to bring with me. Most important is my cat because I could find a place for my horses.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

No

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

No. Only thing I want is to be able to celebrate Christmas with my sister and her fiancé in Whyeteleaf England.
