Looking for first paid horse job. I owned my own 14.2 cob called foaly for just over 7 years. When we bought him he had never had a headcollar on and lived in a field all year round. He was a very big challenge but we learned together and i loved every second of it even the extremely hard days. The only reason we sold was him due to me just starting collage and my mum was paying for him and she could no longer afford him.

 

My best friend has her own horse called prince so i go up on the weekend and take him out on a hack which is nice.

 

I would love to work closely with the horses like grooming, Riding, mucking out and tack cleaning ect.

 

 

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

 

I am very good at working in a team and enjoy making freinds but i also exceed on my own. As i said previously Foaly wasn’t even a yearling when we got him and he became bigger and stronger most would say he was dangerous but he never scared me. I am good with youngsters but currently would like to handle a well mannered horse.

 

 

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

Everything about it i have had a horse for over half of my life and i just have a passion for it. I love the connect you build and trust you get between you and the horse.

 

 

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

No but i would like to do more paddock work as my pervious horse was very green in a school.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am hard working, loving, respectful and i am prepared to do anything to have a paid job in this industry.

Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

I would love more ridding experience and to learn a lot more about horses not just the basic knowledge.

• Do you need accommodation?

No i do drive but it would depend how far the commute would be from Oldham.

 

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

No

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

My current job but i am planning on handing my notice in when i find another place.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

In august but my notice is 4 weeks so couldn’t start before that anyway
