Experience with Horses
I am a kind and confident rider with over 15 years experience. My passion for horses led me to Plumpton college where i received a distinction qualification in level 3 extended equine management. During my time at college i also gained my BHS stage 1 qualification in stable management and equine care.
I am currently retraining my ex-racehorse ‘AK’ who is a 4 year old thoroughbred that i bought from Ireland in November. Prior to this i have had experience bringing on youngsters and retraining racehorses for clients at the yard i currently work on. I have been working at a livery yard for just over 4 years in which i have handled a variety of horses, from competition horses to polo ponies and everything in between. I have very high standards of care and i take great pride in creating the best stable environment for every horse.
Key Skills
I am very versatile to work with which makes me a great addition to any yard. I am independent so i love to work alone and take on responsibility. However working in hospitality has taught me great communication, meaning i adapt to a team environment brilliantly. Whilst working as a groom i invested in a pair of clippers and have since ran my own clipping services which have been successful. I can turn out to a high standard and plait with bands or thread.
