Experience with Horses
I’ve been riding for the last 10 years, and I have my own pony who I’ve had since she was 5 years old. I am currently studying BHS Stage 1, with the intention to go until BHS Stage 4. I would ideally love to work as an Equine Groom for a small private yard, not looking for any riding school types.
Key Skills
I am calm, quiet and reliable. Once shown what to do, I am more than happy to work on my own. I love to get jobs done and ensure that the horses are cared for up to the best standard. I have also been told I have a natural affinity with animals. I also have my own holiday care business, caring for all aspects of horses and other animals.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I have always wanted to work with horses, as I absolutely love them. I love being able to help out and learn from them, which I can apply to helping out my own pony along her journey.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would love to improve my experience and confidence, I’ve always wanted to be an equine groom however I am yet to find an employer local to me.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am very reliable and I love to learn. I believe myself to be different to other people because I am independent and I love to know that I can make a difference.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to become an equine groom, it would be my dream job to be able to look after and care for horses with the highest standard. I’d love to gain knowledge within a groom pathway, as well as get to work with a variety of horses.
