Experience with Horses
*I would like to gain a position as a groom and stablehand. I would also like to try a racing yard. I’m happy to gain a residential position and I’m prepared to travel.*
I have been volunteering at a riding yard for 3 years. I have been mucking out stables, grooming, sorting out feeds/water, laying beds, cleaning tack, bringing horses in and out of the fields, tacking up for lessons, leading in lessons, helping out with events such as pony camp, looking out for injury or illness.
Im looking for yard work. I enjoy being part of a team and love to ride. I can walk, trot, canter and jump. I enjoy supporting beginner riders by leading them in their lessons. I enjoy riding in groups and also private lessons. I ride a fresian called Hettie who is beautiful to ride. I’m good with younger riders who are just new and I like to help them find their way and build their confidence. I’m a hardworker, adaptable and reliable.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- I love getting to know horses and their personalities. I like being able to give them a happy and fulfilling life. I love being able to ride particularly cantering and jumping. I would like to try cross country riding.
I’m a team player and can work on my own initiative. I’m trustworthy and enjoy working in a fast pace environment. I have a genuine passion for horses and want to pursue a career which involves horses and looking after them properly with love and care. My weakness is I don’t like to say no and I’m a people pleaser.
