Experience with Horses
I have over a decade experience with horses, I’ve completed multiple work experiences on all sort of yards, working with fit competition horses, foals, stallions etc. I’ve worked on riding schools, stud yards and a working college yard. I have a level 3 equine management diploma, where i focused on riding, coaching and rehab in my final year, and finished with a merit, merit, distinction. I’ve also competed my full loan horse in all disciplines over 7 years.
Key Skills
I’m able to take sole charge and can comfortably work alone as I previously have, running a stud yard by myself. I’m able to plait/turnout/clip to a good standard, but there is always room to learn and get better at this. I can handle big stallions to small stallions, I can also ride to a good standard, ridden all sorts of quirky horses, and even backed my first pony last summer.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy the unknown with horses, you never know what the days going to bring!
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
My turn out skills, such as plaiting, clipping and bandaging.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
they should consider me as I’m a loyal and hardworking person, I’m always willing to learn and never shy away from talking to people.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to gain more experience and knowledge of horses, as I can never have too much! I would love a supportive environment where I can grow as a person.
• Do you need accommodation?
im in the Essex area, so willing to travel up to 30/40mins, if the travel exceeds these timings I would consider accommodation for the right job.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
I do have a job at the moment, so would have to give them 2 weeks notice.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
Can’t work Sundays as have other commitments.
