Experience with Horses
I have been working with horses of a variety of types on a school for a few years now and am looking for the next step in my career. My roles have included teaching, but consisted primarily of yard management and horse care, both independently and as a part of a team.
Key Skills
My greatest skill is my ability to learn new things. With regards to equine skills however, I have practice in clipping, basic care and lungeing, and an array of on yard skills including basic maintenance and Jerry rigging (always a necessary skill when horses love to break things!)
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy working in the outdoors in a field where the outcomes and proof of work done are clear. In the school, I enjoyed working with our helpers and teaching clients.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
There is very little that I would not like to improve. Whenever I am offered the chance to learn something I like to take it. I am presently working towards my BHS Stage 3’s.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
When I commit to a task, place or job, I like to see it through to the end. I bring a strong work ethic, willingness to adapt and determined attitude with me to any role.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to gain more experience of the industry outside of the school that I have worked on, as well as generally improve my skills with horses.
• Do you need accommodation?
Ideally, yes. I am willing to move from my current county to wherever required.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I would like to bring my horse with me. He is a well behaved 15hh cob gelding. Currently he lives out 24/7 and has no special requirements.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No.
