Experience

My latest role has been with Abingdon & Witney College, Common Leys Campus- Multiple roles throughout the college working in the land-based department.

Technician/Events Coordinator in Animal Care, Equine and Land-Based (primary role).

Animal care instructor technician (maternity cover).

Learning support assistant. (Part time prior to taking on maternity cover).

Although each differed, during these roles I have had hands on experience of working with a vast number of students. Taking on supervisory roles and making appropriate lesson plans for all involved, communicating often with members of staff within curriculum.

During my time being Coordinator I have created many events, collaborating with professionals both within and outside of the establishment. As we are student focused, I ensure there are always opportunities to get involved in these activities as they often linked to learning and developing with in the industry they were studying. This making safeguarding and well-being essential.

Key Skills

Demonstrating a variety of skills sets from working as a team during the week, working with staff, students and the public, to taking sole charge on weekends.

I have extensive experience clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling breed stock/mares & foals.

Exercised a multitude of horses from riding school – ex racers (both flat and hurdlers), newly backed, rescued.

Completed at county level showing.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d like to aim towards being about to drive more vehicles and adding to my license to make me even more valuable to any employer/team.

An employer that understands and values military families.

Unlikely, however would not rule the opportunity out completely

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

The option for stabling would be a helpful addition if relocating.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
