Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
In the past, I have been from yard to hard, volunteering and helping with horses. I have had I riding lessons throughout my life, and i am confident in walk and trot. My ground experience includes mucking out, reseting beds, turn out, helping at shows, taking horses off of the walker, skipping fields, and helping with jumps.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I am good at working with others and I like to consider myself a dedicated learner. Due to where I used to live, I don’t have masses of experience, also due to the fact that I dont currently earn money for more lessons. However, I am always willing to put my head down and learn new things.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I have loved horses my whole life, and they are very special to me. The part I enjoy most about working with horses is being able to make sure that the horses are happy and healthy, but most importantly safe.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
There is lots that I’d like to improve, but I’d most like to work on my riding. I am confident in both walk and trot, though I could use some work on my balance whilst trotting, and overall progress to being able to be successful in dressage.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
Employers should consider me above other job seekers despite the fact that I have less experience than others, I am still very hard working, dedicated, and willing to learn.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to do dressage and/or hacking, but if riding doesnt come as a part of whatever job I get, I dont mind! I would like to gain further experience in groundwork and learn how to lunge.
• Do you need accommodation?
No, I dont need accommodation!
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
No I do not!
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
The only ongoing commitment I have would be college at the minute. But I am hoping that if I start a full time job, that I wont need to continue with college and can focus on the job.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
Not at all!
