Future Requirements
I would like to gain more experience. I feel most supported with management who takes into consideration views and opinions, and supports their staff accordingly.
I do not need accommodation, however may occasionally bring a well behaved small spaniel to work although I’m also happy to leave her at home.
Experience with Horses
I am an experienced groom, I have worked on many different yards, from professional to track systems. I have also freelanced for a family with BSJA ponies, consisting of clipping, pulling, trimming, lunging, yard work, and housesitting.
I am currently competing my horse to novice level dressage, with the hopes to step up to elementary at the end of the year. I have also showjumped up to 90cm before my horses career was cut short due to an injury. I have also hunted on a few occasions.
Key Skills
During my time both freelancing and at Millfield Equestrian, I have developed my stills for clipping, plaiting, and turning out to a high standard, as well as completing yard work. I have also had experience grooming at various events and disciplines. I am also confident dealing with quirky, sharp, and young competition horses, with a sympathetic, yet firm but fair approach. At 5’10, I use my height to my advantage! I also have experience dealing with clients respectfully and professionally.
I am also very happy to work alone or as part of a team. I enjoy working alone, however equally I love to have a laugh with a supportive team.
Strengths and Weaknesses
I enjoy how rewarding it is to work with horses. I also love meeting new people and forming both professional relationships and friendships in the industry.
