i have worked in the industry for 15 years, riding since I was 4. I have worked in livery yards, racehorse pre-training, eventing and rehabilitation and currently offer my services as a freelance stable hand. My previous PAYE position was as head girl at a family run event yard, I oversaw the day to day running of the yard and prepped the horses for events (although the clipping and plaiting was always done my employers) and daily exercise (hacking and light schooling)

Due to not having ridden for the last year, I am looking for a non ridden position, however if possible with a sensible horse, I would like to start riding again.

 

 

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

i work well in a team but also comfortable taking sole charge. I take pride in my yard work and like to keep a a clean and presentable yard.

 

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I have always loved horses, I love their personalities and getting to know them. They are extremely rewarding animals to work with and give a sense of freedom that working in a supermarket could never give.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to learn to clip/plait to a show standard

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am hard working and always put the horses needs first, everything I do is for the horses. I am reliable and easy going with a good sense of humour.
