Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Volunteered at a yard for 3 years helping in lessons and carrying out most yard duties. Taken care 0f a small private yard with 3/4 horses each time whilst the owners are away on holiday with the equines ranging from small childrens ponies to event horses. Riden a range of horses from riding schools to ex eventers. Assisted with a family members horses when visiting by carrying out general yard duties.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I work well best in a close knit team however am happy to carry out tasks individually as well. furthermore, I am a quick learner that is willing to learn and constantly develop knowledge and skills in the industry.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I most enjoy being active and working outside but also building relationships with the horses and people I work with is important to me to help create a more enjoyable work environment for everyone involved.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

Building on existing knowledge and being taught new skills such as clipping would be ideal.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

Friendly to be around and prioritises the horses wellbeing with an animal management qualification which included a research project into equine welfare to develop a greater understanding. Happy to start work early and always willing to help as much as possible and further develop skillset.
