Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have over 30 years of experience with horses, including owning my own and helping on a variety of yards. I am looking for a non-ridden role but am confident to ride sensible horses and ponies if needed.
In addition to horse care, I also bring strong administration and organisational skills. I would be happy to consider non-equine roles in administration where I can combine my equestrian knowledge with my office background.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
-
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
-
Hard-working and practical with strong attention to detail.
-
Over 10 years of experience in sports events, administration, and PA roles.
-
Confident handling horses of different types; calm and experienced around them.
-
Flexible — able to take on both practical yard duties and office-based tasks.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Having grown up around horses, I simply enjoy being with them and looking after their needs. It feels natural and rewarding to be around them.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would like to improve my speed at mucking out while maintaining high standards.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I bring maturity, reliability, and a strong work ethic. I am happy to start early — often beginning poo picking at 6am in the summer — and I combine many years of horse experience with professional administration skills.
