Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have over 10 years of experience riding, training, and caring for horses. I compete in show jumping up to 105cm and eventing EvA 95cm, while continuing to develop in dressage and show preparation.
My hands-on experience includes:
- Instructing riding lessons for children (teaching grooming, tacking up, untacking, and riding basics)
- Caring for and managing up to 5 lesson horses at a time
- Daily stable duties: mucking out, feeding, watering, and night checks
- Lunging and exercising horses, including working with young and green horses under trainer guidance
- Monitoring health and administering medication when needed
- Assisting with farriers, dentists, and other equine professionals
- Maintaining fences, water troughs, tack rooms, and feed storage
I have worked as both a horse riding instructor in the USA and as a stable hand in Tasmania, giving me strong adaptability and confidence in different equestrian settings.
