Future Requirements
I would very much like gaining even more experience in foaling and handling foals. I prefer a job with accommodation as I usually enjoy walking in the farms after hours checking that everything was done properly. I dont have any pets that I would need to bring in with me and my only ongoing commitment is a remote computer job I can do anywhere in my spare time.
Experience with Horses
I started riding when I was 3 years old. I did showjumping until I was 18. Then I played some polo and in 2013 I moved to Australia and started working in the breeding industry. I lived in the farm, helped foal 250 mares each year, move horses aroung, check wounds, shots, care of new foals, general manteinance of the farm and attended to several yearling sales (prob 10 per year in Goald Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, etc). Then I moved to Kentucky where I worked in the maiden´s barn for a year and then in yearling prep. After that, on the next year I became barn foreman in a 32 mares and foals barn. I have also worked in Germany, the UK, Spain and Italy.
Key Skills
Im very good at handling foals and teach them how to lead, parade, etc. I belive in working together with the mare, make her feel comfortable around me and pass that trust to the foal. If mom says its´s allright, then it is. I prefer working alone but I dont mind a nice team. I have a lot of experience in bandages, medications, IV and IM shots, foaling. I have a sharp eye and I pay a lot of attention cause I do actually care a lot about the animals.
