Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I’ve been around horses for the last 20 years and owned my own horse since I was 5 years old. I’ve done all pony club/ riding club activities from top to bottom and been very competitive within . I’ve competed up to BE 100 on my 15.1 horse , who I have had from a 5 Yro and taught him everything he knows, we represented the Eastern Region at the u18 championships at Frickley park back in 2018.
I have had experience with riding and helping back young horses , my current line of work is at the Royal mews (Liveried Helper, The Royal Mews, Windsor Castle — 2022 – Present) where I’m working with our young horses that we have in to break to start their careers. I really enjoy working with young horses I find it very rewarding as I don’t like to rush anything when it comes to teaching young horses. Duties include:
Working as a team to carry out all the day to day yard duties involving mucking out,
exercising (ridden and non-ridden), tacking up and un-tacking, harnessing and unharnessing, turning in and out from the fields, etc.
Involved in many of the different state and ceremonial occasions such as Royal Ascot,The State Opening of Parliament, State visits, Trooping the Colour, Lord Mayors Parade, Royal Garter, Ambassador and High Commissioner Credentials. All of these
jobs I have completed from different roles and have been a footman, outrider or postillion rider
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
My key skills

Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Being all to learn and teach the horses something new. And just generally being around them I love to give horses all the fuss that want.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I don’t have anything that I would like to improve on mainly , but every day is a learning day and I was like to learn new things and I’m always open to new ideas.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m hard working , knowledgeable with the equine industry , I work well in a team or alone , I have a high standard of riding , I’m a very happy person with a good sense of rumour.
