• Do you need accommodation?

Yes

I have a friendly dog who would need to come to work with me. I also have a horse who I could find a boarding situation outside of work.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

I am currently employed although my employer is aware of me looking for another job as she is not competing internationally and understands my goals to be a traveling show groom.

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

Not as of right now.

Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I can do all the daily care and chores as well as braid, clip, lunge, medicate, wrap/ice legs and perform other types of therapy, assist ringside as well as turnout to a high show standard. I’m comfortable handling stallions and young horses. I can also drag and maintain the arena. I have groomed for a national Grand Prix rider as well as a FEI Junior rider in the past.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I have worked alone as well as with others. I always keep my horses clean and tidy and have a “show ready” standard for myself.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

Forming a relationship with them. I love when they learn to trust you and know that you are their “human”.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d love to learn how to drive a truck/trailer. Unfortunately, I haven’t had an opportunity where I can learn. I’m also always trying to improve on my work/life balance as I always tend to spend too much time with the horses.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am a kind and caring groom who just wants the horses I take care of to be happy and comfortable. I am always eager to learn and love learning new tips and tricks.
