Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Dedicated and detail-focused horsewoman with experience producing youngsters, supporting horses through rehab journeys, and managing day-to-day yard operations with calm, consistent care. Trained under Debbie Cox – with influence from Ruth McMullan and Jill Watson – instilling a horse-first philosophy where every detail matters. Confident riding at Prelim level and committed to continually improving my understanding and capability on the flat, with a strong foundation in developing suppleness, relaxation, and correctness in a variety of horses.

Competent in sole charge, having previously managed young stock, colts, competition horses, and liveries, taking responsibility for daily routines, yard maintenance, and early identification of health or behavioral issues. Proven track record managing complex cases including recurrent colic, cellulitis, kissing spine rehab, and behavioral challenges, working collaboratively with vets and other professionals to achieve long-term successful outcomes.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Skilled in clipping, plaiting, lunging, bandaging, managing feeds, creating and maintaining rehab plans, and coordinating farrier/vet/physio schedules. Equally confident working independently or alongside owners, adapting to individual horse needs with sensitivity, patience, and a commitment to creating a calm environment where horses can thrive. Motivated to continue developing as a rider within a supportive yard where high standards of care are central.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

When it all just ‘clicks’ and you sussed that horse out, its a great feeling to give them the environment that they need to excel.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

My Riding

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I bring a varied background, with additional skills on top of my dedication to horse care
