I’m currently employed as the Dry Mare Manager of Segenhoe Stud in Australia,where I have worked for over 5 years. However,I am seeking to move back to Europe in a role where I can grow and learn more

As mentioned above I am the Dry Mare Manager at Segenhoe Stud, one of Australias premier thoroughbred nursery’s. Prior to my current role I did a period of on call foal watch,as well as two seasons of preparing yearlings for the top Australian sales. In addition to this I have sole charge of the farms spelling facility on weekends

I’ve previously worked at Cambridge Stud in New Zealand,Ballylinch stud in Ireland and completed a diploma in Stud Management and Practice from the English National Stud as part of my University work placement (BcS Equine Science – University of Limerick)

 

 

 

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Im confident with any aspect of a thoroughbred stud farm,however my forte is mares and foals.
I’ve been designated “on call” individual in several stud seasons,having attended/assisted in excess of 400 foaling a

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy the constant change of pace,no two days working with horses are ever the same. I’ve also really loved being able to follow a horses progression,  through foaling, yearling prep,and their subsequent racing career

Overall I’d like to improve my managerial skills

I am extremely passionate about all aspects of my job,no matter what. I enjoy hard work,and will try and always achieve the best result for both the horses and clients
