Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I am a hardworking and reliable individual with a strong background in equine care and yard work, supported by formal training including a Diploma in Horse Care from Sparsholt College and a Horse Racing Qualification from the British Racing School in Newmarket. I have hands-on experience working across racing yards, polo yards, and riding school/livery environments, where I was responsible for the daily care, exercise, feeding, turnout, and general management of horses.
My roles have required early starts, long days, and strict routines, demonstrating my commitment, timekeeping, and ability to work under pressure. I am confident handling horses, maintaining high welfare standards, and working independently as well as part of a team.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
my skills offer a very high level of welfare care to any animal I look after, I take huge pride in my responsibility of the animals in my care. I can plait clip, and turnout to a high standard. I am very comfortable working alone but also enjoy working as part of a team. I am happy riding young horses/ problem horses any fit competition horses.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? I most enjoy bringing on young horses and teaching them the ropes or equally I love watching horses improve with their training and helping assist that journey wether they have a behavioural problem that they need to work through or a medical problem that needs rehabilitation.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would love to improve my veterinary knowledge involving injury, so anytime the vet or Phsyio etc is needed I am always very interested in helping out where I can.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am extremely passionate about what I do and have a very good work ethic. I thrive off of a busy and strict routine where the animals welfare is paramount.
