Experience with Horses
I have been a freelance groom/rider for the past 18 months; prior to then, I worked at a riding school. I have completed work experience on a stud farm during stud season. With my freelance work I have worked with hunt horses, both turning out and riding, as well as young/unbroken horses. I also have offered clipping services and can clip to a high standard. I have produced and ridden my own ex-racer up to grassroots level before recently retiring her.
Key Skills
I am confident in handling all types of horses, with plenty of experience with young, competition, and hunt horses. I can plait, clip, and complete all yard duties to a high standard. I regularly work alone due to the nature of my previous freelancing business and am happy to continue doing so. I have predominantly ridden young horses, from backing through to competing, and am confident and capable of doing so.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would like to gain more experience grooming at shows and events.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
