I would really like to expand my skills into the eventing world. Whilst welfare and veterinary care have been at the forefront of my previous roles, I have briefly worked alongside clients from the eventing industry and have a keen interest in learning something new.

• Accommodation would be preferable, should it allow my partner.

• No pets.

• I am currently travelling Southeast Asia but am willing to start a new role immediately if the right opportunity comes along.

• No holidays booked.

Experience with Horses

I have over 15 years’ hands-on experience working with horses across veterinary, welfare, rehoming, and private yard settings. I am confident in full yard duties, sole charge, fitness and feeding programmes, pasture management, and maintaining high standards of turnout and care.

I have extensive veterinary experience as an Equine Veterinary Technician, assisting with diagnostics, procedures, medication management, and emergency care. This has given me a strong ability to recognise early signs of lameness or illness and respond appropriately.

I have worked with a wide range of horses, including competition and hunt horses, young stock, foals, broodmares, stallions, unhandled and nervous horses, donkeys, and horses with complex medical or behavioural needs. I am calm, reliable, and welfare-focused in my approach to all aspects of horse care.

Key Skills

I have always enjoyed being responsible for running a yard and overseeing all aspects of welfare.

I learn quickly and adapt well to last-minute changes while working under pressure.

I enjoy a challenge that encourages problem-solving, efficiency, and improvements that benefit the whole organisation.

Strengths and Development Areas

• My favourite thing about working with horses is that you can give a little and gain a lot. This ranges from simple tasks such as grooming, which helps build trust, to halter training foals, which requires patience and perseverance to achieve a positive outcome for the equine.

• I would like to develop my skills further in preparing horses for shows to a higher standard, including plaiting and pulling manes and tails. While I do have experience in this area, I would benefit from additional practice.

Why Me?

I bring a wealth of professional and life skills gained over the last 20 years of my career, working both as part of a team and with sole responsibility for managing my time and workload. These skills form a strong foundation for delivering high-quality care while remaining adaptable and resilient in any situation. Although I have learned a great deal throughout my career, I am always eager to continue learning and developing further.
