Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have been around horses for 8 years, working at a range of yards from riding school, private dressage, show jumping and livery. During my career my main tasks have been day to day care of the horses with occasional injury treatment. I do not have much experience within riding, although very capable of simple exercising in walk trot canter, but having lessons on my own pony to improve. I also do not have much experience in show prep however would love to expand my skills. Mainly, I have worked sole charge and am capable of working within or managing a team. At a previous private livery yard I was the assistant manager for 3 years, attending to mostly “first pony” types and the occasional competition horse. I do have experience doing the day to day care of competition horses, limited experience with Stallions.
I would love to find a yard that really appreciates their workers, a small yard with close group of grooms that are not over worked. I thrive off balance and having the opportunity to have a life outside of work without working 10 hour days due to lack of staff.
My goal would be to join a small private show jump yard and gain more skills within that specific field in the industry with a supportive group.
