Future Requirements

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?

• Do you need accommodation?

Nope! I’d prefer to be able to commute my workplace instead of living on site though this limits to me to areas within an hours drive to where I am.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?

I don’t plan to bring any animals with me so no.

• Do you have any ongoing commitments?

• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?

Nope!

Experience with Horses

I have had roughly half a years (6 months) total experience in working on stables and farm sites. I majorly worked in the position of a stable hand for John Chapmans Equestrian when I was doing work experience in high school and an additional two weeks during the summer holidays. I’ve also helped family friends with their stables in exchange for riding lessons, however this was a few years ago and lasted around a year. I’ve handled turning horses out, reigning them in, general cleaning of yards, mucking out and I’m eager to learn more!

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

Horses are really beautiful animals that I enjoy working around due to their varying personalities! I find them to be fascinating creatures that while requiring quite a lot of upkeep are capable of a wide range of talents. I love being able to work alongside animals I’m passionate about and being able to ensure they have a good, clean, loving home.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d love to improve my capabilities when it comes to yard work! I’m knowledgeable on a lot of the tasks that are required in the yard/stables however lack the proper training or confidence to preform them. This majorly affects more in depth skills such as tacking up a horse, a full grooming/bathing session, administering medication.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am competent in daily mucking out, skipping out, and maintaining clean, safe bedding to a high standard of yard hygiene plus confident in leading horses of various temperaments to and from turnout paddocks while strictly adhering to yard safety protocols, meaning I am ready to step straight into the world of yard work without being needed to be taught the basic skills. Strong work ethic with the stamina to complete physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions, ensuring no disruption to the horses’ or employers routine.
