Experience with Horses
I have owned, cared for and ridden horses since the age of 6. I used to show-jump at amateur level as a teenager and enjoyed backing and schooling my own youngsters, where I developed a passion for groundwork and in-hand training.
Most of the horses I have dealt with have been Thoroughbreds and Sporthorse types, however I have also worked on family yards and dealt with ponies, and done the occasional show prep. I fell into stud work early on in my working life, and have been doing that ever since. My duties have included sitting up, foaling down mares, day to day care, vet & farrier assistance. Yearling prep and attending Tattersalls October Sales.
I’m comfortable driving a tractor and trailor. I have operated tractors with harrows, fork, grabbers, flail mowers and rollers, although it has been some time since I have done so. I can operate a strimmer and perform basic ground maintenance.
