Experience with Horses

I am currently on a Level 3 Stud Managment and Sales Consigment course with the National Stud which ends in April. throughout this course I ahve developed a strong theroetical knowleged and practical skills within stud work. Along with this we have worked with handing newborn foals, stallions, youngstock, mares and spellers. I also did book 2 and 3 yearling sales at Tattersalls 2025 and the foal sales at Tattersalls 2025. I have been riding for 13+ years in disciplines including  Flatwork, jumping, hacking, and assisted children’s rides and lessons. I also have A BHS stage 1 in care. I have experience with horses in a range of settings from small to big yards (teaching, educational, events) over 10 years. 10+ years of experience working on equine yards in a volunteer and work experience capacity. Daily tasks e.g. feeding, watering, grooming, trimming, clipping, sweeping turnout, and tacking to an exceptional standard. Experience in event management and organization. Feeding, including special diets and managing supplements. Managing a yard, including supervising more junior students and volunteers.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Mucking out, turning in and out, managing volunteers, making feeds, working with foals, handling youngstock, making haynets, conducting yard inductions, assisting with riding lessons, working alongside disabled volunteers, taking payments, dealing with clients, and working alone and with others

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I currently most enjoy working with foals and doing foaling but equally enjoy all aspects of stud work and happy to put the work in wherever its needed.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would like to continue to improve my clipping, plating, and trimming skills which will come from practice. Aswell as gaining more experience within the industry.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I can work on my own and as part of a team and I am extremely hard-working and self-motivated. I am also willing to try anything new and am open to additional training. I am a huge animal lover. I also have a Level 3 Technical Diploma in Equine management (DDM) as well as a Foundation degree in Equine Performance (Merit).
