Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have several years of hands-on experience working with horses, with a strong focus on their physical and emotional well-being. I am trained in equine massage (non-therapeutic), which I use to help improve horses’ comfort, release tension, support recovery, and enhance overall body awareness. My approach is always gentle, respectful, and adapted to each individual horse.
Alongside this, I am training in equine behavior, which allows me to better understand how horses communicate, how they experience their environment, and how their emotional state can impact their physical condition. I pay close attention to subtle signals such as posture, movement, and reactions, in order to adjust my work and build a relationship based on trust and safety.
I regularly work with horses through groundwork, observation, and bodywork sessions, combining these approaches to support both their mental and physical balance. My goal is to help each horse feel more relaxed, understood, and comfortable in their body, while also supporting owners in better understanding and caring for their horses.
I ride since 6 years.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I am particularly good at working independently and staying organized, while also being comfortable collaborating with others when needed. I am reliable, observant, and attentive to detail, especially when it comes to horses’ behavior and well-being.
My strengths lie in groundwork, horse observation, and understanding equine behavior. I am confident handling a variety of horses and adapting my approach depending on their temperament, whether they are sensitive, anxious, or more confident. I have experience working with young or reactive horses on the ground, always prioritizing safety, trust, and clear communication.
I am also skilled in equine bodywork, including massage and the use of supportive techniques such as taping (as a complement, not a treatment). I pay close attention to horses’ physical comfort, movement, and subtle signs of tension or discomfort.
In addition, I am calm under pressure, patient, and empathetic—qualities that help me build strong relationships with both horses and people. I am used to working in demanding environments, managing multiple tasks, and maintaining a professional and caring attitude.
Non-equine skills include good communication, client support, and a background in therapeutic approaches, which allows me to work holistically and support both animals and their owners.
I am studying psychology for understanding more humans and help them more.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
The fact some are mistreat, I am sensitive to that.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
My riding skills.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am reliable, hardworking, and able to manage responsibility, even in busy or demanding environments. I stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and maintain a professional attitude with both clients and team members. What also sets me apart is my background in equine bodywork and behavioral understanding. This gives me an additional layer of awareness when handling horses, helping to prevent issues, improve their comfort, and build trust more effectively. Finally, I am very motivated to keep learning and improving. I am committed, dedicated, and genuinely passionate about working with horses in a respectful and thoughtful way.
