Future Requirements
What would you like to do or gain in your next job? I am seeking a rewarding role within an Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) center where I can combine my horsemanship and instructional skills with therapeutic facilitation. My goal is to create safe, empathetic, and impactful equine interactions that support personal growth and emotional well-being. I am committed to advancing my professional qualifications through EQASA (South African equivalent to BHS) and the Equitots EAL certification and mentorship program in 2026, with long-term aspirations to progress to International Level I Coach and further specialisation in equine dentistry.
Do you need accommodation? Yes.
Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? No.
Do you have any ongoing commitments? Yes. I currently balance a Part-Time Assistant Instructor role at an emerging EAL center with community service for the Darling Equestrian Club’s After School Rider Development program, which provides inclusive equine education and meaningful horse encounters for rural communities.
Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? No.
Experience with Horses
I am a versatile equestrian with lifelong involvement in horse care, training, and welfare. My competitive background spans dressage, equitation, showing, and show jumping, including representing the Western Cape and Gauteng Provincial Teams.
My technical foundation includes EQASA Module 3, supported by a completed 10-month intensive student program with the South African Lipizzaner Stallions. My certification focus is ongoing with the completion of Module 4 (Assistant Instructor) and Equitots EAL training to be concluded in 2026.
Alongside competition success and ongoing self development, I have contributed to community-based equestrian work, serving as Assistant Instructor for the Darling Equestrian Club’s inclusive rider development program, volunteering with the Midrand SPCA in Gauteng and Helderberg Animal Sanctuary for Rescued Horses.
My training philosophy is rooted in natural horsemanship and an empathetic approach, ensuring both horse and rider feel safe, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Strengths and Weaknesses
What do you most enjoy about working with horses? I love the resilience of horses and the quiet reward of helping those with difficulties or challenges transform into confident, willing partners. Working with rescues and horses facing complex conditions has taught me that patience and empathy unlock their true potential, which mirrors the human experience and inspires my work in therapeutic riding.
Is there anything you’d like to improve? I am actively advancing my show jumping skills and developing proficiency in English Mounted Games. I am also improving my heavy-duty truck driving skills to support horse transport (HGV Code 14 SA License), refining my clipping techniques for turnout, and consistently working on vocal instruction in group lessons as I progress toward EQASA Module 5 / BHS Level 4. Alongside this, I am committed to daily improvements in my riding and facilitation skills.
Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? Employers should consider me because I bring a rare combination of technical horsemanship, competition success, and a deep commitment to inclusive equine education. My proven ability to produce horses from rescue to championship level, coupled with my dedication to community service and ongoing professional development, ensures I can contribute both excellence and competence to any equestrian team. I am not only seeking a job but a vocation, using horses to create safe, life-changing experiences for people.
