I have always had a passion for horses, teaching and dressage in particular since a young age. I consider myself lucky to have met some really super people and horses in the industry and i feel my life has changed for the better during this time.
I have been employed as a home groom at a international dressage stable for a well known family in Cirencester, Gloucestershire for 2yrs, as well as roles in smaller high level dressage yards run to high standards.
Although happy with a non riding position, with my past experience in other posts as a rider or instructor, i have helped start the youngsters in the backing process from the ground, as well as lunging horses of various ages on a regular basis.
I have also taught/ ridden in 2 well known British Horse Society Approved Where to Train centres, one of which i held the Chief Instructors post.
In these roles i worked with a wide range of horses and riders, including therapeutic equipment such as treadmills and massage equipment.
I’m one of those people you love to hate, being that i’m annoyingly cheerful in the mornings and i do not have bad days.
When I’m not on the yard, I can be found in the gym or eating which is my second love.
Having pursued my teaching exams and having taught full time in the industry, and now currently grooming, I would now like to fulfill my main wish, which is to move back to the Gloucs area where most of my friends/family are based & put down some long term roots.
For me, one of the greatest moments working with horses is when the ‘ light bulb ‘ moment happens, when things fall in to place and it becomes easy for the horse and the rider be it on the ground teaching or from the saddle.
I’m very happy to work within a team, and with my happy go lucky attitude, first aid training and calm outlook, a good person to have around.
Its hard to say what i enjoy the most about working with horses. The whole experience, the lifestyle, being able to spend all day doing something you love. Few people in life can say that.
