Experience with Horses
I have been working in the equine industry since January 2017, with my most notable employment being for 5* rider Becky Heappey from 2018-2021 as well as 2 seasons on a hunting yard, a racing stud/pretraining yard and 4 years at an estate which houses multiple rescued ponies and retired competition horses.
Notable responsibilities included sole charge of yards, exercising and lunging, preparing for show days/hunting, collaboratively working in a team, and managing diaries to keep on top of vaccinations, worming and any medical needs.
I also own my own horse, a 17 year old ISH, who I had based with Becky Heappey from 2022-2024 whilst being responsible for the management of the yard whilst Becky was on maternity leave.
I have recently taken a break from working professionally with horses to complete my degree. During this time I have worked within the hospitality sector so I have honed my skills in all things customer service which will in turn have set me up to successfully communicate with/manage owners, sponsors and any other equine professionals as well as being a keen team player.
I am also qualified as an equine sports massage therapist so have a keen understanding and interest in biomechanics and correct development of horses.
I am looking to re-enter the equine industry in a role that will develop my skills as a competition and home groom to allow me to create a career that I can thrive in for years to come.
