Experience with Horses
I’ve been around horses since a very young age, attending pony club and pony loan weeks. I have previously worked on a private livery yard as a groom looking after up to six horses mucking out grooming all general yard duties, including exercise of horses. I have completed my level 3 equine management at Myerscough College.
At college we have learnt stable and yard operations, lunging, bandaging, exercising the horses, plaiting, grooming and the health of the horses. I have also loaned horses in the past at a local livery yard just up the road from my house, here I also helped people with youngsters, and helped back and break them. I have also got experience showing both ridden and inhand.
I have very good communication skills, I am a very fun easy going person who can work both well as a team and on my own. One reason why I like working with horses is because you get to see the horses progress over time and watch them become the horse they are.
In my next job I would like to carry on gaining more experience in the equine sector, learning new things and more experience with what I already know. In my next job i am looking for a live in job as am more than happy to move away from home. I am a fully committed person, I don’t have any plans for holidays anytime soon so I am an open book to anything.
I recently worked on a competition yard in Surrey where I took care of the daily horses needs and exercising them. Including mucking out, feeding, grooming, turning out and bringing in, preparing for shows and the exercises of horses.
